The Opportunity:
We are hiring part time to full time Shift Leads at our south county locations
Our North Park and Oceanside locations are or flagship locations. We offer a full espresso bar, kitchen, wine & beer menu and retail / floral offerings. It is a hybrid of counter / table service. This position would include cashiering, barista and server duties.
Our South Park location is a vintage Shasta trailer that has been converted into a full service coffee bar. It functions as a mobile unit, although it stays in one place. There is outside seating only. Must have a valid driver’s license to work at this location.

Responsibilities include:
- Deliver the best experience to every customer, with a friendly and community-oriented attitude.
- Prepare and serve beverages and food items consistently.
- Assist with setup, cleanup, stock work, and special tasks.
- Maintain a clean and inviting environment for customers and team members.
- Be able and willing to work early morning, afternoon, and weekend shifts.
- Support your team in keeping the cafe clean and running smoothly.
- Communicate all staff difficulties, triumphs and feedback to manager / owner.
- Adhere to all company policies and protocols, and holds all employees to that standard.
- Coaches / mentors staff on ongoing basis.
- Directs floor during lead shifts. Utilizes staff in the most effective way to meet shop goals and provide excellent customer service.
- Models standards of excellence in customer service through direct interaction and handling customer complaints and issues.
- Maintains coffee and food menu knowledge. Can accurately and confidently communicate product information to staff and customers.
- Participates in training of new employees.
- Troubleshoots issues as they arise in the shops.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year experience in customer service and/or hospitality.
- At least one year lead experience in a food / beverage environment preferred.
- A strong background and emphasis on customer service.
- ABC certification through exam if applying for FOH role
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds above your head.
- Job requires long hours on your feet.
- Repeated motions with hands and wrists (i.e. tamping, pulling shots, steaming milk).
Position Details:
This is a full-time, hourly position, starts at $17.30, plus share of the tip pool. The pay for this position is dependent on experience. Benefits include sick time, and matching retirement. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) San Diego County.
